The Shake Hat

Introducing The Shake Hat

Hi Everybody, The Shake Hat is here!

I'm super excited about it. I've been working days and nights during the last year, putting a lot of effort into making this a reality. It's time to release this sound into the world and see how it flows.

I want to tell you a little bit about how it came about and the process I have been going through with this instrument.

It all started about ten years ago when I studied Senegalese drumming with the Ndiaye Rose family in Dakar. Inspired by the Senegalese sound, I was looking for an instrument that will generate high frequencies, massive sound and that will also have a strong visual and auditory presence on stage. I needed to create an impactful sound with one hit. Somewhat intense and spiritual.

Inspired by the traditional Djembe add-on, the Kessing, I started testing different options until I got to the right prototype. During the years,  playing and developing the sound and technique with the Shake Hat, I began receiving messages from people all over the world, asking for instructions on how to build one or where to buy it.

Till recently, I didn't feel like I was ready to share this instrument with the world and knew it is an essential part of my signature sound. I wanted to keep it to myself. The passing year had brought changes in many aspects and forms. I had an inner drive and an outer calling to create the best Shake Hat I can so other musicians can enjoy it, use it, and be inspired by it as well. I felt ready to let it go.

I spent days and nights researching, designing, choosing the right materials, dealing with the manufacturing challenges, and experimenting. I can finally say that I'm happy to release the very best version I have ever made of the Shake Hat.

It is 100% hand-made and full of positive vibes. You can choose from two different sizes and two different colors. With each Shake Hat, you also get some very cool extra features. Every detail is thought of and full of intention.

Now it's your turn to play it, and my time to let it go. I'll be looking for the next sound to inspire my drumming, and in the meanwhile, I hope you can enjoy, enhance your sound, and play with it.

It is available now exclusively on my website.
