Joxna
“Joxna” meaning “I’ll give it to you” in Wolof unites Senegalese legend Omar Pene and Ethiopian singer Aveva in a spiritual dialogue across Africa. Produced and composed by Ben Aylon, the song bridges Wolof and Amharic, weaving voices from West and East into one circle of sound. It speaks of divine giving and creation, where music becomes a gift passed through time, faith and spirit. Rooted in African tradition yet timeless in essence, Joxna captures the moment when everything aligns, when two distant worlds meet in harmony. A song of grace, connection and light received.
Amharic Lyrics:
Kenu siders yehasabe
Simolalin Sihonelen endlebe
Kewakbtoch planatoch sizmeru sichfru
Yanaa tadya !teshaynem ke cherka agabche
Feterku alem zemdoche
The universe moves by divine thought.
We speak, we exist, and we listen to one another.
When the stars and planets align, they shine together in harmony.
Now, let us rise and step out from the circle of darkness.
I have created worlds of melodies.
